Emil Kuruvilla has over 7 years of experience in marketing and communications. In that time, he worked for innovative social-impact organizations, including the American India Foundation (AIF) and the Deshpande Foundation. As the Senior Development & Communications Officer for AIF, Emil helped the organization raise over $3 million in funds. Between 2009 - 2015, he managed marketing and communications for the Deshpande Foundation. In his first two years, he worked in the Foundationâ€™s center in Karnataka (India) and trained over 200 local entrepreneurs in areas such as photography and video. After his stint in India, Emil worked in the Foundationâ€™s Massachusetts center (Entrepreneurship for All), and helped local entrepreneurs launch various types of ventures, ranging from the food to technology spaces. During his MBA summer internship, he was a Strategy Analyst for IntelligentMachinesLab (IML), which is pioneering the next generation of linguistics based deep learning technologies and focuses on newer approaches to natural language understanding.
